Look into our week 5/2-5/6

Good morning parents and guardians,

We are getting closer to the school year coming to an end. If you have any questions regarding any of the scheduled activities please let me know. Our class is in need of a few items, donations are greatly appreciated!

5/6: School wide picture-please only REACH spirit shirts or uniforms
5/9: Wear purple in honor of  a staff member and 4th grade student

Language Arts:
  • Story: Unit 5-Week 6 "This is the way we get to school"
  • Unit 5 final (Friday)
    • HFW: yellow, blue, green, what, said, was, where, come

Writing
  •  Continue with Unit 6: personal narratives
Math:
  • Chapter 20: Money
    • Students will be able to recognize penny, nickel, dime and quarter
    • Students will be able to add coins up to 10¢
Science:
  • Clouds

    • Students will be able to compare containers according to capacity
    • Students will be able to compare events according to duration
  • Begin Chapter 20: Money
    • Students will be able to recognize penny, nickel, dime and quarter

Writing
  •  Continue with Unit 6: personal narratives
Math:
  • Finish Chapter 18: Subtraction Stories
    • Students will be able to represent subtraction stories with subtraction sentences
    • Students will be able to understand simple subtraction
    • Students will be able to compare two sets and show the number sentence to answer, how many more
    • Students will be able to subtract fluently to 5
  • Begin Chapter 19:Measurement
    • Students will be able to compare weights using nonstandard units
    • Students will be able to compare containers according to capacity
Science:
  • Continue our unit on Oviparous animals

Look into our week 3/21-3/25

Good afternoon parents and guardians,

What a fun week! I hope you enjoyed this month's family project. The kids were super excited to set their trap and catch a leprechaun. The pictures I uploaded onto our Shutterfly does not show the full excitement of the students. They really were in awe, it was amazing!
These past two weeks my class began the first Project Lead the Way (PLTW) module. I hope they went home and explained their creations to you. They were able to put on their engineer hats and solve problems. They did amazing, and the way they helped each other out, made my teacher heart happy.
