Look into our week Unit 1 week 3: 9/25-9/29

Good afternoon parents and guardians, 

Be sure to check out our Shutterfly page for our latest classroom pictures. If you would like access, please email me for a special invite. Soon all parents/guardians will be given access to teachers grade books. I try to update my grades right away after the students take a test.

 Please help me reinforce the following hand signals and rules: 
Hand Signals: (show me the number of fingers in the air)
1 finger: restroom
Encourage your child to use the restroom before school, during both recesses, lunch and after school.
2 fingers:water
Children may bring their own water bottle to keep in class, please LABEL it with their name
3 fingers: pencil
Student may replace their dull or broken pencil for a new one
4 fingers: tissue
when needed, please ask student to sit back down right away
5 fingers: question
question for me to give more information on

Classroom rules:
#1: Listen while the teacher is talking
#2: Follow directions quickly
#3: Respect others, respect yourself, respect your school
#4: Raise your hand to speak or stand
#5: Keep your hands to yourself

  • Story of the week: "Apple Trouble"

    • Home activities: Look for the letter(s) O, P, Q, R, S (in all types of fonts)
    • Say words that begin with O, P, Q, R, S
    • Draw pictures that begin with O, P, Q, R, S
    • Sound  out  blend CVC words (determine if real or silly)

  • Weekly reading comprehension test: Every Friday (Based on the comprehension skill of the week)

      Kindergarten teacher emails and class schedule


      Important message from Dr. Rentie...please read.

      Dearest REACH Family,

      Please find a facility update below:

      Grades TK-1- Rustin Campus.

      Room Assignments are as follows:
      Room 1- Special Ed Office
      Room 2- Quach (K)
      Room 3- M. Contreras (TK)
      Room 4- Gil (K)
      Room 5- Juarez (K)
      Room 6- Gallegos (1)
      Room 7- Gascon (1)
      Room 8- Osequeda (1)

      For the first week of school, parents will park and walk students to the grassy area. Overflow parking will be allowed at the Mosque across the street. For pick-up (this week only), parents will pick-up from classrooms. No pickups from After School will be allowed before 4 p.m.

      For grades 2-6, there has been a FACILITY CHANGE. Instead of the Islamic Center, classes will be held at Sandals Church, located at 150 Palmyrita Avenue, Riverside, 92507 (3.5 miles from Rustin Campus- allow 10 minutes to drive between both campuses).

      Grades 2-6- Sandals Church

      Students may be dropped off starting at 7:00 a.m. REACH staff will provide guidance as you enter the parking lot on Mt. Vernon. Please have students ready to exit car when pulling up to the curb. To pick-up, pull cars forward and students will be ushered to cars, For After School Care, students will be bussed from Sandals to the Rustin campus. Parents will pick-up from Rustin no later than 6:00 p.m. To have your child BUSSED to after school care, you must sign a release form in the foyer of the church on Tuesday Morning. To have the release form sent to you via email, send request to msmith@reachroyals.org. NO CHILD WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO AFTER SCHOOL CARE WITHOUT A SIGNED FORM ON FILE.
