November is here!

Good morning parents and guardians,

Another month has come and gone. This school year seems to be flying by, but I hope your kiddos are enjoying their Kindergarten year at REACH! I wanted to say THANK YOU to all those families that donated items towards our class activities and also to those that donated their time. If you would like to help out more in the classroom please let me know and we can set up a time and date. I already have one parent who comes in during math and works with children.

The month of November will seem like a short month with no school on two consecutive Wednesdays (11/4 and 11/11), no school on 11/20-21 (parents conferences) and of course having the last week off for Thanksgiving break.
Parent conferences: I will be sending home more information soon about parent conferences. Those parents that return their forms will have priority (towards the time slot they choose).

Peek at our week 10/20-10/24

Good morning parents and guardians,

I hope you all had a great week! The month of October is about half way done, and our class has learned so much and had fun doing it. This week we learned about ways to stay healthy. Some of our week's activities were:
-learning about germs and why it is important to cover your mouth and wash your hand (we had fun with glitter this day)
-We also learned about healthy and junk foods (the students had a scavenger hunt using weekly ads and tried to locate as many healthy food and junk food to place on their paper)
-We discussed different types of marathons. We specifically went over the Color Run to get them more excited about it next week.
-Finally, for our Foody Fun Friday activity this week we made mouths! The kids had so much fun, and got a little messy. The activity was really easy to do, and had a Halloween twist.

  • 2 Apple slices smothered with peanut butter. Sandwiched in-between the slices were small marshmallows! Thats it! Easy-peazy!

Peek at our week 10/13-10/17

Good morning parents and guardians,

I hope you all had a great week! Did your kiddos come home and tell you about the boats we made in class? They were beyond excited during the week as we learned about Christopher Columbus and how different kinds of boats are made. They were even more excited yesterday when I began to set up! Everytime I explained an item they screamed! It was the best feeling for me as a teacher. I try my best to create moments like this, moments of fun learning.
