Look into our week 2/29-3/4

Good morning parents and guardians,

   This month's family project is a fun one! Here are some ideas of Leprechaun traps. Please turn them in by March 15. If you can any questions please let me know.

Here is a look into our new week

Language Arts:
  • Story: Unit 4-Week 4 "Goldilocks and the three bears"


Writing
  • Continue Unit 5: informational writing
Math:
  • Continue Chapter 14: Number Facts
    • Students will be able to compose numbers to 10
    • Students will be able to decompose numbers to 10
    • Students will be able to combine sets and say how many more are need to make 10
Science:
  • Planets
Social Studies:
  • Dr. Seuss

Please feel free to email me or stop by with any questions or concerns. Students were given access to MobyMAx. Please try using the online program at home. Students may do Language Arts or Math. This is an awesome individualized learning program. Also, parents still have access to our grade books. My grade book is updated on a weekly basis.

2/17: 100th day of school (THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE THAT HAVE SIGNED UP!)
Students may come dressed as 100 year olds!

  • Ruby Bridges

Look into our week 2/8-2/11

With a new year upon us, a few of our classroom supplies are running low. If you are able to donate any of the following items, it would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU in advance!

February family project: Valentines Day Box! The project will be due February 10 (can be turned in before this) and presentations will occur the following day. Feel free to get as creative as you would like! Project information will be going home with student's homework this week. Here are some examples I found online:

    • Students will be able to understand first, second and third in terms of position
    • Students will be able to rank, first, second and third.
  • Begin Chapter 12: Counting on and counting back
    • Students will be able to revisit ordering numbers to 10 with one to one correspondence
    • Students will be able to count on to 10
    • Students will be able to count back using fingers
Science:
  • Finish Chapter 7: Matters and Mixtures
    • Understand solids, liquids and gases
Social Studies:
  • US presidents
